*Nanocast was founded with one goal:*
To give people the power to easily create their own widgets.
All widgets today look the same, because they all come from a few places. They’re just not good enough. With Nanocast you can now create your own, personalize it with your own media and have a widget nobody else has.
Your party invitation no longer has to fit a set format determined years ago by a web site. You can make your own, add your video (never been done before), add a collage of pictures (never been done before), track whoever views it (never been done before), and make money every time it is views (definitely never done before). Same is true for personals, classifieds, flyers. You can even create your own TV channel with a nanocast. Every time you upload a video, your audience gets it wherever they’ve put your widget. The possibilities are endless.
Nanocast was founded in early 2006. We wanted to build a product that we would love to use ourselves. We are funded by Comventures, a top tier venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. Nanocast was an idea to take advantage of the convergence of media and The Internet whereby broadcasting is made easy, simple and fun to share with anybody across the internet. Nanocast can be best described as “Adobe for Rich Media”. With Nanocast you can share, broadcast, advertise your rich media content, including but not limited to images, video, audio and text. It also enables you to track and monetize any rich media asset you have.
We’re proud of the fact that we have used some of the bleeding edge technologies to create a High End Tool to manipulate, create and share Rich-Media contents. Nonetheless, it won’t be surprising to notice that Nanocast is as easy to use and simple to tune to. We will keep pushing the envelope of Technology to provide everybody with easy to use tools. *Nanocast and Advertisement*
The fundamental problem for an advertiser lies in reaching the target audience with an attractive message. A deeper problem is the identification of the audience and gauging the success of the message. Nanocast solves both of these problems. An advertiser now has a tool to create rich media ads that combine slide shows and video. More importantly, they can track everything a consumer does with the ad, including what pieces within the ad they interacted with.
We believe that any communication, whether it is about personality, skills, goods and services or thoughts, is an advertisement. We believe that people are forever trying to gather an audience that views their accomplishments, admires their property or buys their product. Nanocast is a service that mediates between advertisers and their audience.
*Nanocast Editor – Creator – Composer*
Nanocast allows anyone with moderate computer and artistic skills to create a very rich and polished advertisement, aka a Nanocast. Our Rich-Media Composer or the Nanocast Editor or the Nanocast Creator, a next-gen tool available on the web site, allows users to composite image, video, audio and text into a vibrant message. Using the same, a user can create a Nanocast that contains anything from a simple video to a complex interactive media show with captions, effects, backgrounds, and animations.
*How do Nanocast help distribute your contents*
- Via the social network of their friends or organization membership. Nanocasts can be made public for wide distribution or marked private for closed group viewing.
- As an embed in any web site that supports such an activity. Nanocast supports embeds in all major Web 2.0 web sites (think MySpace, Blogger, et al), as well as sites such as eBay.
- Using RSS Feed syndication users can keep track of Nanocast feeds within the aggregators of their choice.
*Track your Nanocasts*
The Nanocast Tracking Service allows users to collect information on viewership of their Nanocasts. Statistics are collected on viewers, view count, geographic location, and host of other data. Nanocast reports all such data with detailed analysis while preserving privacy of the viewers.
*Social Community*
Nanocast is building a community that is highly motivated to create and publish advertisements via rich-media. The service is free for all. It is free to create, free to view, free to distribute and free to syndicate.
